Thailand: A Destination for Splendor and Adventure

To help travelers planning Thailand tours, here are five of the country’s most amazing places to visit:

All Thailand tours can never be complete without visiting the capital city, Bangkok. A city bustling with lively crowds, alluring with vibrant colors, ringing with sounds of hawking street vendors, and tantalizing with spicy smells of Thai food, Bangkok makes an unforgettable experience.

Bangkok is abundant with restaurants and hotels for every budget so visitors can easily find a place to stay and eat. The city offers many popular attractions such as the temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Grand Palace, featuring a majestic emerald Buddha. Tourists can also experience a special treat by hopping on one of the many riverboats that travel up and down the Chao Phraya River.

Reserve some time to shop at one of the city’s exciting night markets or Chatuchak, Thailand's largest weekend market, where you can find anything from crafts and Thai silk to live animals and souvenirs.

Visitors in need of relaxation and recreation will find it at Phuket, one of Thailand’s most popular island havens, where they can take a dip in turquoise lagoons, admire stunning sunsets, and get a massage right on the beach. Those wanting a little adventure will not be disappointed with options like scuba diving, snorkeling, and wind surfing or exploring the lush hills and cliffs of the inland.

Koh Samui

For those dreaming of Thailand tours, a tropical favorite of many tourists is Koh Samui. Adorned with white sand, palm and coconut trees, Koh Samui is home to a group of numerous picturesque beaches, some of them teeming with the activity of vendors, nightclubs, spas and cafes while others remain secluded for the perfect romantic getaway.

Just to mention a few of the things to see and do in the area, tourists can visit the magnificent Big Buddha shrine, marvel the bizarre rock formations at Lamai Beach, splash in the natural pool beneath the beautiful Na Muang Waterfall, or rent an elephant ride through the jungle. Adventurers can also explore the impressive limestone mountains, waterfalls and hidden coves located in the nearby Ang Thong National Marine Park.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is a city popular for both its old and new attractions. History lovers will appreciate the city’s 700-year-old history and enjoy visiting some of the old ruins in the area. Modern day highlights include shops, night markets and spas. Two of the many interesting and beautiful temples include Wat Chedi Luang, a peaceful and lovely setting where visitors can sit and chat with monks, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, located on the nearby hills, which offers a spectacular view of the valley below.

Mae Hong Son Loop

One of the most scenic routes in Thailand, The Mae Hong Son Loop is 600 kilometers of winding and climbing roads through woodland mountains where travelers can stop and take photos or exit the main route and visit waterfalls, caves and other spectacular spots.
