A Relaxing Trip and Bird Feeding At The Countryside

July 31st 2010 13:01
I always love visiting the province when I want to relax and have a break from the busy and noisy life of the city. I usually visit there two to three times a year depending on how many days off I can have at work. This is one of my ways to relax and my gift to myself. Whenever I'm in the country, life is different. Hours don't pass so fast. We don't feel in a hurry all the time and our world just pauses for a while. We can always hear the chirping of the birds, breathe fresh and unpolluted air and enjoy fresh fruits and other picks in the garden. Yes, country living is simple but rewarding.

One that really amazes me and I consider a good therapy is bird watching. There are bird feeders my father has placed at the right side of our garden and birds just love going near it because of the bird foods my father usually put inside. He loves birds of different kinds and this is his way of making them come and visit us. He loves the heavenly chirping of the birds and seeing them get busy with the foods that they want to eat.

He creates a bird feeder by himself as he wants to customize it and paint it the way he thinks birds would be attracted to it. Our family loves bird watching as well as feeding those that would come near us. It is a beautiful site to enjoy with your whole family and one way to spend quality time with them. We sometimes take a video of the movement of the birds so we could watch it from time to time.

If you want to enjoy bird watching with your family, you can always create your own bird feeder or order one online or buy one in your nearest pet store. How-to tutorials are available online that would assist you in creating one. There are different kinds of bird feeders depending on the kind of birds that you want to attract. There is the seed feeders which is the most common kind. Mixed seeds usually attract cardinals, chickadees and finches. Hummingbird feeders don't use seeds but a liquid nourishment which is in the form of sugar solution. In order to attract the birds, this solution is usually colored in red.

Other bird feeders are oriole feeders and suet feeders, among others. Oriole feeders are best in orange color. Orioles get attracted to it more. These kind of feeders are designed to attract orioles more that's why they have nectar containers which are made of plastic or glass. A suet feeder is usually made in metal which is of cage-like form. It has a plastic coating which mostly contains block of suet so woodpeckers would love to feed itself by it.

Bird watching is a relaxing activity in the country. Many people love doing it as they find it as a good therapy to release all those stress and tensions from a busy week. This activity will surely be enjoyed by the whole family too.
