A Tourist's Guide to Singapore

September 21st 2011 05:31
Singapore is a very beautiful and progressive country. Its people are so disciplined and very hard working. From being a developing country, it is now one of the richest countries in Asia. Its educational system and health care services is already at par with those in the West.

In an article entitled, "The Singapore Solution" in National Geographic Magazine, it states that the country's per capita income has already exceeded that of many European countries. Indeed, Singapore has proven that it is not impossible to be progressive in just a short time. It just needs the right discipline and very hard working people to reach for those dreams.

If you are a first time tourist in Singapore, you would be amazed by its pristine sidewalks and the very clean streets. Homeless people and the slum area are nowhere to be seen. The people follow every rule of the government by heart. Spitting and throwing of garbage in the streets is a no-no which has an equivalent fine once you are caught. Camera's are everywhere in the streets so people will really be careful of doing anything harm to the environment and to the people.

Singapore is also a beauty to behold. Travel to Singapore is not only good for business but also for vacation and leisure. Sentosa Island offers an amazing underwater world with a huge aquarium that contains many different kinds of fishes and sharks for your eyes to feast. Enjoy a "meet a dolphin" session or watch a fantastic choreographed show at the Dolphin Lagoon. Access

to this area of the island is through a shuttle bus. In order to reach the island, you can ride on a cable car across the water.

Enjoy and explore also the world of animals at the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari. This country has one of the best zoos around. Enjoy a wide variety of animal natural habitats that you can see all over the zoo. A short walk from the Singapore Zoo brings you to the Night Safari. The Safari uses a special lighting that lights the whole area. In this zoo you can see animals like elephants, leopards, the king of the jungle - the lion and many others.

If you want some shopping and enjoy the different restaurants, you can always go to Little India and Chinatown. It has different treats to tourists and locals with food courts, restaurants and shopping centers.

Singapore has still so much to offer. Other tourist attractions in the city are the East coast park, Jurong bird park, Singapore botanical garden, Holland village, Singapore flyer, Asian civilization museum, and many more.
