Everyone is aware that skiing is meant to be an incredibly expensive hobby, yet there are plenty of us who have been on skiing holidays that barely cost any more than a week in a sunny European seaside resort! The key to skiing holidays is being prepared to search around for the best deal.
You always have to first of all consider the sort of skiing you want to do, and how determined you are to go somewhere where you are guaranteed a lot of snow. Obviously, if you book a little out of season you are likely to find a really cheap deal, but it comes with the risk that the snow may have melted at all but the highest points. The ski season in Europe now generally runs until the end of April, and if you can find a high resort then there is still an excellent chance of good fresh snow.
If you are determined to go at peak season then you can expect to pay somewhat of a premium, but you can still find affordable deals. You just have to scour the internet to find the best ski deals. You should be able to find sites which can tell you all about the different resorts that are available in the region you are looking at, so you should track down both an affordable resort, and one that suits your level of skiing too.
