Mixing it up

For his sixteenth birthday my grandson asked for a turntable, as in one that a DJ would use, or so he told us. Me and his parents pitched in together and got it for him. But I was just glad that I didn't have to live in the same house as him for when he started practicing on it. I remember his dad took violin lessons for some years and the first bit of practicing was really screechy and awful.
It ends up that he's apparently pretty good and he sends me a lot of the remixes of things that he makes. He'll do something that he calls mashups where he'll play two songs at once to make one song together and although I don't like a lot of the original songs, it does sound pretty neat after you hear the originals.
I was having some trouble hearing some of the parts of these songs he was really excited about so my son took me to get a free hearing test and I got some hearing aids. Then I could hear some of the small little things in the songs that he wanted me to pay attention to and I could really appreciate his work then.
I joke around with him telling him that he shouldn't give up his career goal of becoming a lawyer in the meantime, even though he was getting some gigs Djing parties and even some bar mitzvahs and weddings.
