Regardless of this being your first visit to the Maldives or your tenth; You know that cheap international flights to this tropical paradise are hard to come by. But once you are there you will be able to find many astonishing things to do. The following is a list of the top five things you should do when you visit the Maldives.
1. The Maldives has one of the best destinations for scuba diving in the world. Experience some of the best diving sites available for beginners or experienced divers. There is a vast amount of choices in lagoons and reefs to experience tropical fish and corals that will take your breath away. Most resorts in the area also offer diving schools for inexperienced divers. There are many tours that will take you to a different dive site each day so that you can experience all that the Maldives has to offer.
2. Another main attraction site is the National Museum located in Sultan Park. The museum was built to preserve the history and cultural heritage of the Sultans. The museum has fascinating objects to see such as costumes worn by past kings and queens of the Sultans. The building is a conversion of an old palace and the architecture is something you will only be able to experience in the Maldives.
3. The Male fish market is a major tourist attraction of the Maldives. This area is the center of commercial activity. Shops and stands sell freshly caught fish, fresh fruits and vegetables. This is one of the most overcrowded places in the area. You can watch as the fishermen bring in their catches and lay them out on tile floors for selling.

This is often referred to as the Presidential Palace since the building houses the office of the President of the Maldives.
